What types of Volunteer opportunities does Champions for Life have?

 Contact    Information

    1.  In-prison evangelism

Our main need is for 350-400 volunteers for each weekend event (or 80-120 volunteers for a single day event), willing to learn to share a gospel pamphlet, to share with adults and kids that want to hear the gospel message.  Men and women over 18.  We will train you - no prior evangelism training, prison ministry experience, or witnessing experience is needed.

    2. Bible Study leaders

How effective would our evangelism event be if we didn't follow up with these new Christians, to give them a start learning God's Word and seeking the purpose He has for their life?  We need 30-50 Bible Study leaders (from the local area) willing to commit to an 8 week (sometimes can go longer) new believer Bible Study.  Contact Virginia Thompson.

    3. Transportation

We need 10-12 church buses and vans (with a driver) to get our volunteers from the host hotel to the 12-14 correctional facilities.  Please contact our transportation chairman to assist with this need.

    4.  Drivers

One problem when you bring out of town entertainment (platform guests) that must get from one facility to the next on a schedule - is that they don't know the area.  We need local drivers and cars (or trucks) to shuttle platform speakers between these facilities, usually 15-20 of them for a weekend event.

  5.  Prayer

Some people can't make one of our weekend events, and can't drive others.  Can you pray for our ministry, for open doors at these facilities, for open hearts with these inmates that we will see, and for guidance for our leaders.  We'd  like to have a team of committed Christians praying for our volunteers while we are in local facilities.

  6.  Hospitality

The bands, professional athletes, and platform speakers need sustenance for the weekend.  We have a team of people to make food and serve it at our host hotel Thursday morning-Sat. afternoon.  Please contact our hospitality chairperson if you can make salad, bake brownies, or serve food to our platform entertainers.

  7.  Banquets

We have at least one banquet, usually Friday evening, and at a church fairly close to the ATL Airport.  In 2009, our Friday banquet was at New Hope Church in Fayetteville.
